Wolff convinced: 'Viewers don't care where the races take place'

More and more traditional Formula 1 circuits have to make way for new locations in the United States and the Middle East, which has brought the sport hefty criticism. However, according to Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff, fans do not care at all where in the world racing takes place.

The addition of Miami and Las Vegas has added two races in the US in a relatively short time, in addition to the already existing race at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin. Wolff happy with new F1 venues

Many people fear that the gradual calendar expansion by financially strong partners will lead to the disappearance of more and more classic circuits, especially in Europe. The Mercedes boss does not share those concerns. According to Wolff, Formula One CEO Stefano Domenicali has done an "excellent job" of balancing new venues that are not only attractive from a financial point of view, but also serve to attract new audiences.

Despite the criticism of some of those new venues, Wolff believes that most F1 fans 'really don't care where there is racing'. He looks at it mainly from a business point of view: for example, he cites the example of Baku as a non-traditional, but 'iconic location'.
