Charles Leclerc managed to keep Max Verstappen behind him during the start of the Bahrain Grand Prix. The Dutchman tried to overtake Leclerc already on the first lap, but did not find a gap to do so.

Leclerc did not seem to get away particularly well at the start, nevertheless, he managed to keep Verstappen behind him. The Red Bull Racing driver tried to change lines, but it was not enough for first place.

Mercedes can be satisfied with the start

Lewis Hamilton started the race from fifth position. The Brit immediately succeeded in taking fourth place from Sergio Perez. The Mexican even had to settle for sixth position, because Kevin Magnussen also passed him. Moments later, however, he took back fifth place.

Mercedes could be satisfied with the start because George Russell also did well. Russell had to start from ninth position after the qualification of Saturday afternoon and in the race he managed to come back in seventh position. After the fifth lap, he was even in sixth position.
