Mick Schumacher has finished his first season in Formula 1. Stefano Domenicali, former team boss of Ferrari and currently CEO of Formula 1, has a high opinion of the son of F1 legend Michael Schumacher and expects to see him driving a Ferrari in the future.

Schumacher certainly did not do badly in his debut year. He had the slowest car in the field, which was not developed during the season. The fact that the rookie managed quite well with the materials he had, did not escape Domenicali either.

"Mick is doing his job very well," the Italian told F1-Insider.com. "However, in 2021 he suffered from not having a car with which to prove his capabilities. I really hope the new Haas will give him the chance to show his talent."

Another Schumacher at Ferrari?

In 2022, Haas will work even more closely with Ferrari, developing the new car in the Scuderia's wind tunnel in Maranello, among other places. Meanwhile, Schumacher also continued to maintain close ties with Ferrari, where he hopes to see himself in the future. Domenicali would also like to see a return of the legendary Schumacher - Ferrari combination.

"I had the privilege of working with Michael at Ferrari," the Italian recalled. "Mick in a Ferrari would of course be a great prospect for the future. Right now Ferrari has two fantastic drivers in Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, who are also young. But if Mick is ready and an opportunity arises, he will take it," said the Formula One boss.
