Verstappen understands emotional Honda: 'That's just insane'

Everyone at Red Bull Racing and Honda was emotional after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and winning the world title. According to Max Verstappen, that's not surprising when you look at the history.

Red Bull had to wait a long time for it, but for the first time since 2013, the team has conquered a title in Formula 1. All the hard work of the past few years has finally been rewarded and that emotion was reflected on their faces. Especially with the people from Honda, who had to travel an even longer and harder road.

Reward for Honda

''All emotions came out at that moment. It really is a story of not giving up and continuing to give everything. It was a difficult situation for Honda in the beginning, but everyone in the team told them we could do this. We had to believe in it and fortunately we did,'' Verstappen said in a press conference with GPblog and others.

Of course, Verstappen also knows that this came at a price. ''Of course, this required a lot of investment, but that's normal in Formula 1. You have to do that. To win a world championship in the last race and really be part of that team is insane. Everything came out, all the emotions'', concludes the Red Bull driver.
