Max Verstappen has a tough challenge ahead of him during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The leader in the world championship must finish in front of Lewis Hamilton's car to grab the world title. According to Verstappen it does not change anything in the race, he told Ziggo Sport.

The Dutchman seemed to be on the way to the world title after the Mexican GP, but three victories by Hamilton have levelled the score between the two drivers. Therefore it all comes down to the last race in Abu Dhabi, where Mercedes seems to have the advantage. However, Verstappen has great confidence in his team and knows that the Austrian racing team will get the most out of the car.

Although the pressure on Verstappen has never been greater, the Red Bull Racing driver remains remarkably calm, letting things slowly unfold. "I'm actually very calm," he told Olav Mol. "I know that if the car is good, we will win. And if the car is not good enough it will be very difficult. That also makes it very easy."

Verstappen heads to Abu Dhabi with advantage

Verstappen has one more win than Hamilton this season. Should Verstappen and Hamilton both retire in Abu Dhabi, the Dutch driver is therefore assured of winning the world title.
