After the two free practice sessions on Friday, the drivers will get into action one more time before they start qualifying. The third free practice session often revolves around finding the optimal setup and balance and from this weekend onwards, the ideal engine mode for qualifying and the race.
One final practice session
In the first two free practice sessions, the Mercedes drivers were unbeatable. They both set fast times that no other driver could match. It is striking that Max Verstappen has not yet been in the top three in any of the sessions so far this weekend.
Instead, we often found Pierre Gasly high in the timesheet and the McLaren drivers are also doing very well. It must be said, however, that the free practice sessions don't always give a good picture of how fast the drivers actually are.
