After George Russell's crash at the Australian Grand Prix, there was a lot of talk about the incident. Fernando Alonso received a penalty after the Briton's crash, which caused him to lose several more places after the race. Meanwhile, the incident was also discussed during the drivers' briefing. Max Verstappen says everyone is getting a bit tired of all the talk surrounding the crash.

During the closing stages of the Grand Prix through Albert Park, Russell was battling Alonso for sixth place. Things went wrong at Turn 6: Alonso braked earlier than normal and Russell lost control of his car, resulting in a dangerous crash.

The Aston Martin driver was subsequently penalised. He was administered a drive-thru penalty, but because the decision was not made until after the race and therefore the penalty could not be redeemed, it was handled with a 20-second time penalty. Many fans disagreed with the stewards' decision. Alonso himself then also posted a statement on his social media, stating that the penalty was not fair.

The penalty stood, and now Formula 1 has arrived at the Japanese Grand Prix. During the drivers' briefing, the incident was still being discussed. When asked about what exactly was discussed at the meeting, Verstappen said, "We had a short briefing. That was it. I think everyone is getting a bit tired of it."
