Lance Stroll surprised friend and foe by finishing sixth in Bahrain. Not because of his talent, or the speed of his AMR23, but because of his health. Speaking to Motorsport, the Aston-Martin driver addressed his medical condition.

The young Canadian suffered hefty injuries in preparation to the new F1 season. Due to a cycling accident, the driver broke his left wrist, bruised his right wrist and broke his right big toe. It was a miracle that Stroll appeared on the grid. "My osteopath was with me 10 hours a day to get my wrists repaired and my toe sorted out. There were doctors saying I might not return until Australia."

Stroll could not do anything due to injuries

Stroll was very happy with his sixth place. "Ten days ago I couldn't move anything. I couldn't even walk. I looked like a plant. I didn't think then that I could be standing here now." He looked to the upcoming races with confidence. "My right wrist feels solid. The left one, which I had surgery on, needs time to recover. My toes feel better every day. So it should go well from now on."
