Horner looks back at Abu Dhabi: "Nobody could have written that script"

Christian Horner is still enjoying his time at Red Bull Racing. The Briton has been the Austrian team principal for many years now and has experienced both highs and lows. Last season's victory in Abu Dhabi is the best thing he has ever experienced in Formula 1, he told the NOS.
The Dutch medium talks extensively with Horner about Red Bull. Last season, after a number of difficult years, the team once again managed to get involved in the battle for the world title. In Abu Dhabi, Max Verstappen eventually managed to emerge victorious.
"In all these years there have been countless highlights, but I can't think of a moment that was more special than Abu Dhabi," Horner stated. "After a year of fighting, every race like the round of a boxing match between two heavyweights, wheel to wheel until the last race. Nobody could have written that script."
"We are a team run by an energy drink manufacturer competing in motor racing against big engine manufacturers like Mercedes and Ferrari. As Red Bull Racing, we have shown that if you want something really badly, and you act on it, you can win. Even from the dominant Mercedes."
Dominant season for Red Bull
At the start of the current season, it looked like Red Bull would have to compete with Ferrari, but the Italian stable has come up short so far. While Verstappen and Sergio Perez share the top spot in the world championship, the difference in the constructors' championship was 118 points.
