Rewind to the 2012 Formula 1 season, before the introduction of the hybrid era, where Sebastian vettel was driving for Aston Martin Red Bull Racing, Lewis Hamilton at McLaren and Fernando Alonso lining up on the grid for Ferrari, while Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg partnered each other at Mercedes. Vettel and Alonso were locked in a battle for the Championship in the final race of the season with the Spaniard running near the podium positions for the majority of the race and the German dropping to last on the first lap.
