Bent Viscaal took his first podium in the second Formula 2 sprint race at Monza. The Dutchman finished second behind winner Jehan Daruvala. The 22-year old Red Bull-junior managed to take his first victory in the rookie class.

Viscaal, racing for Trident, started from fourth on the grid and was able to outsmart Juri Vips at the start to take third place. He then managed to pull away from the rest of the field together with Daruvala and David Beckmann. Towards the end of the race Viscaal also managed to pass the German.

Viscaal happy

"I have one word for this result: finally! I've had a good feeling about the Trident team for months now, and I knew this was coming, but in this sport you have to put your right foot down first. It felt good to fight at the front and I am very happy with this result. I owe this second place to the Trident mechanics and engineers who have worked so hard over the last few months to make this possible.

The 21 year old driver from Albergen has scored twelve points in the championship. He is currently on 22 points. It was also Trident's first podium in Formula 2.
