The Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort starts with the first free practice sessions on Friday. Everybody is, of course, looking forward to Sunday, when the race is on the program. On the last day of the weekend, a special visit awaits the sport.

The Dutch Government Information Service announced on Thursday that King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima will attend the first Formula 1 race at the circuit for 36 years. Besides their presence, they will visit Max Verstappen just before the race, who will be preparing for the GP at that moment.

The news doesn't come as a surprise, as it is known that the king likes to watch motor sports. Moreover, Bernhard van Oranje, who helped make the GP possible, is his nephew, which gives him the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes.

Hamilton and Verstappen battle it out for first place

Verstappen will be looking to regain first place in the world championship this weekend. Thanks to half points from the Belgium GP, the Dutchman is only three points behind his rival Lewis Hamilton.
