The Belgian Grand Prix was not only a long wait for the fans in the stands and along the sidelines. The race direction also tested the patience of the drivers. The red flag however came at an ideal moment for Lewis Hamilton.

After a few postponements, the drivers went out on track to inspect the circuit behind the safety car. Max Verstappen said he was happy to start, but the other drivers were less enthusiastic about the race. Race control decided to bring the cars back inside and wait for better weather.

Hamilton could have used the moment well, as the Brit needed to go to the toilet. "I'm glad I went to the toilet again," he then responded over the radio, recorded by Speedweek. "The one I was in, someone put a crazy bomb in there. The worst thing I've ever experienced. It will haunt me for the rest of my life."

World championship points

After hours of waiting, race control finally decided to abandon the race and give the top ten half points. It means Max Verstappen is only three points behind his rival.
