Max Verstappen had a brilliant race in Austria. The Dutch driver started the race from pole position and did not have to defend a single moment, so he returned home with 26 points.

The Red Bull driver set the fastest lap of the race, underlining his qualities once again. "Dominant he was, but he was also totally invisible," Kees van de Grint at RTL Slipstream commented. "That's no bad thing for me, although it's nice to see some action for once. It's especially frustrating for all those people driving behind."

"It was nice to see the fastest lap on television," the analyst continued. "If someone made an attempt with new tyres, Verstappen beat that time again even with used tyres. Then he also made that pit stop with new tyres. It was clear then that the fastest lap was not going to be taken away from him."

Verstappen in world championship

In two weeks time, Verstappen heads to England with a 32 point lead over Hamilton, where the Grand Prix at Silverstone is on the programme. Although Mercedes have dominated at this track in recent years, Red Bull seem to have a good chance of victory with their current car.
