Leclerc denies he crashed on purpose; Verstappen not angry with Ferrari driver

Charles Leclerc denies he drove into the wall on purpose to secure his pole position for the Monaco Grand Prix. Max Verstappen agrees with the story of the Ferrari driver.

"If I was doing it on purpose, I would have done it a less bit hard! For now, I'm worried about the rear of the car, I hope it's OK, but it doesn't look OK," Leclerc said at the press conference to Autosport.com and others. A broken gearbox will cost the Monegasque a grid penalty of five places.

Verstappen not angry with Leclerc

In front of De Telegraaf, Verstappen is asked if in the future a pole should be taken away from Leclerc after causing red flag. "No, it's a difference if someone does it deliberately, but that wasn't the case here. We all push and a mistake is easily made here," said the 23-year-old Dutchman.
