Ocon clarifies statements about Mazepin: 'There've been Different situations'

Last week Esteban Ocon made some statements about Nikita Mazepin. The Alpine driver even said he was a bit afraid of the Haas rookie. At the press conference in Monaco his statements were quoted again.

Mazepin has only completed four races, but has already incurred the wrath of other drivers on several occasions. The young Russian also had a run-in with Ocon when Mazepin stayed on the racing line on a slow lap, frustrating the Frenchman's fast lap.

Ocon therefore let it be known that he will be extra careful when he meets Mazepin on the track, more than any other driver. At the press conference in Monaco, Ocon clarified his statements. "So far nothing bad has happened," the Frenchman said at Motorsport-Total.com, "But there have been several situations."

Keeping in good shape

In Spain, Ocon qualified fifth, so he looks back on the previous race weekend with a good feeling. "In Barcelona the car felt fantastic in qualifying," jubilated Ocon who unfortunately was unable to maintain that pace in the race. "But in Monaco qualifying is the most important", Ocon looks confident towards this weekend.
