Horner adds to Mercedes woes: With damage, Verstappen lost "one tenth"

During Q1, Max Verstappen drove over the kerbs at high speed. Sparks flew off the RB16B and the slow-motion replay highlighted a couple of bits falling off the car. Still, Verstappen stormed to pole position with nearly 0.400 seconds in hand. Christian Horner predicts this margin could've been bigger. 

Hitting the kerb hard

"The bottom of the car was hit quite hard because we drive so low. As a result, we lost a few parts from the bottom of the front. This may have been around a tenth of a second for the rest of the session," Horner told Sky Sports. 

This isn't news that Mercedes will welcome. Those in the German garage already have a lot of work to do. Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas will be hunting Verstappen down at turn one as that could be their best chance to get ahead in the race.
