Verstappen already has several 'moments': 'RB16B seems very tricky there again'

With a sandstorm blowing and the wind already blowing, Karun Chandhok can clearly see the difference between some cars. The former Formula One driver sees some problems at Red Bull Racing.

Red Bull Racing had many problems with the rear of the car during the winter test in 2020. In hindsight, this was dismissed as excessive, but during the season Max Verstappen and Alexander Albon also struggled with these problems. Karun Chandhok sees some imbalance at Red Bull again on the track.

Car of Verstappen unsettled again

I'm at turns six and seven, where the cars in the intermediate stages suffer a lot from the wind. You can see that some cars are more sensitive to the wind than others. Verstappen has already had a few moments in the mid-stage of this corner. That car is fast, but also very 'tricky' in this section,'' said the Sky Sports analyst.

''AlphaTauri is just very strong in this section. Pierre Gasly really goes into this corner with a lot of confidence,'' Chandhok gives an example of a stable team. The former F1 driver has an inkling what Verstappen is testing in the meantime. ''Max is collecting data on fast and slow laps, because he alternates them all the time,'' Chandhok concludes.
