Today Alpine confirmed their junior program. Some of their junior talents still have to be patient before they can act in the highest racing class. The team seems to be busy looking for a solution.

The team with the new name addressed the juniors at the presentation of the junior program. This included Guanyu Zhou and Christian Lundgaard. Zhou will be in Formula 2 action for the third year this season, and Lundgaard is entering his second year.

Looking for a place

Program director Mia Sharizman says in the presentation that they are sure a solution will be found for both drivers. This is according to The Race. "Yes, we are at the stage where we have three drivers in Formula 2 who are capable of challenging for the title. It obviously started this year, to place them." By the third driver, the director means current Formula 3 champion Oscar Piastri.

Still, Sharizman doesn't get very specific. "It’s something that I can’t divulge much more but yes, obviously we have our own team, our own seat that we can control, that we are looking at for our Formula 2 drivers. And at the same time, we are looking to Formula 1 as a general market," Sharizman concludes. Furthermore, The Race writes that Alpine is also still looking at the possibility of housing their own drivers elsewhere.
