Horner has some advice for Verstappen: "I know you like the sweet stuff"

Christian Horner only has words of praise for Max Verstappen when he looks back on the past year. According to the 47-year-old Brit, the ten-time Grand Prix winner made only one mistake in 2020, at the Hungaroring. By the way, Helmut Marko stated that Verstappen only made a mistake in Turkey.

"Max, you have been amazing for us this year. We hope you have an amazing Christmas. Don't eat too much at new year," Horner gives his pupil laughing advice for these days. "I know you like the sweet stuff, but when weigthing comes in after the holidays, we need you to be a lean mean fighting machine for next year. I know it's going to be a a good one for you."

Verstappen phenomenal

If the 23-year-old driver is driving as he did in 2020, it will certainly not be because of that next year. His team boss agrees: "There were very few mistakes. Only in Hungary on the way to the grid, which he more than made up. He's been phenomenal. He had some bad luck like on Imola or Mugello and obviously in the second race in Bahrain. On the whole he did an amazing job," he says at the Ziggo Sport review of 2020.

Over the past twelve months Verstappen has once again managed to impress the Red Bull team. "Yes, for somebody is that young, he showed great maturity. He led the team from his side of the garage extremely well this year. He can go into the winter with a very satisfied feeling," Horner concludes.
