Binotto sees something in Horner's proposal: ''Currently works well in MotoGP''

Formula 1 is still discussing the new budget cap to be drawn up. The original budget cap will be adjusted, but to what amount is not yet known. It is said that Ferrari and Red Bull Racing would be in the way.

Where most teams during the coronavirus still recognize that the sport is not healthy and that things need to change financially, Red Bull and Ferrari would like to stick a little more to the current guidelines. For example, Mattia Binotto indicates in an interview with The Guardian that too many layoffs will follow if the cap is too low.

''The cap of 150 million dollars is already a huge step backwards compared to the first directive we had in June. If we go back even further, it will cause redundancies bunnen our company and much lower we have to start thinking about other options to show our race DNA'', hint Binotto on a departure from Ferrari.

''We also see that F1 and the whole world are in crisis because of the oronavirus, but this is not the time to panic right away but to make decisions. We will have to analyze the consequences and in my opinion, Formula 1 should remain the top of motor racing, with the best technology and performance''.

Binotto sees something in Christian Horner's proposal to sell the car to the small teams. ''If the survival of other teams really depends on this, then Ferrari is certainly open to this. This has already been done in the past in Formula 1 and now also works top in MotoGP'', concludes the team boss of Ferrari.
