Marko doesn't rule out quarantine before Austrian GP: "Should be possible"

Helmut Marko emphasized once again that the Grand Prix of Austria can be held at the beginning of July. The idea now is to finish two races on the Red Bull Ring. Marko argues that respiratory masks should be worn on the circuit and he doesn't rule out that Formula 1 personnel should be quarantined for a fortnight if there are not enough tests available.

"It looks good now that we can do both races," Marko talks to Auto Bild again. With the German medium he says that Red Bull as the owner of the circuit is completely ready. "We are ready for it. Liberty Media, however, insists on keeping the number of people as low as possible".

Spectators are excluded but one of the other measures is that in all probability there will only be press from television in Spielberg. The paddock will therefore have the necessary regulations in place. "There will also be strict measures on the paddock and around the circuit: the minimum distance must be maintained and a respiratory mask must be worn", the 76-year-old Austrian further explains.

Fourteen days of quarantine not excluded

Everyone who travels to the Austrian Grand Prix will have to undergo a test, the Red Bull Racing advisor said earlier. But what happens if there are no tests for the coronavirus? "If this doesn't turn out to be possible, the people with a corresponding turnaround time in Austria will have to be quarantined. That should also be possible with proper planning," Marko adds at Speedweek.com.
