Mattia Binotto says Ferrari will be "even more aggressive"

Ferrari boss Mattia Binotto says that his team will be "even more aggressive" in the upcoming races following Sunday's disastrous Russian Grand Prix, which saw a potential one-two ending in a third place for Charles Leclerc and a retirement for Sebastian Vettel.

Ferrari employed a slipstreaming strategy at the start of the race to get a one-two into the first braking zone of turn two, but Vettel got in front of polesitter Leclerc, leading to the team orders that allowed Leclerc to get ahead during the pit stop phase.

Soon after his stop, Vettel's MGU-K stopped working and he had to pull to the side, causing a virtual safety car, allowing Lewis Hamilton to put and get in front of Leclerc.

After the race, Binotto told Sky Sports Italy: “We had asked Charles to grant Seb the slipstream because it was the best scenario to be first and second at the first corner.

“But maybe we have to be more precise before the races. We will talk to them to review what happened at the start of the race.

“After today we will be even more aggressive, the third place hurts us also because this result is the result of our mistakes.”
