Major updates are planned for Ferrari's team ahead of the Imola Grand Prix. After new updates allowed McLaren to take a step forward in Miami, the Scuderia hopes to make a similar step. Ahead of this Grand Prix in Italy, Ferrari has an extensive test day planned.

Whereas Red Bull Racing was mega dominant in 2023, the competition in 2024 looks to be a bit closer. The new 2022 technical regulations have, of course, been in place for several years, so in the meantime, other teams have now made strides.

Ferrari will test new updates extensively

As a new move in the fight to beat Red Bull, Ferrari will come up with major updates in Imola. As in 2023, this will be preceded by a test day at an Italian circuit. According to Formu1a.uno, the new version of the SF-24 will be tested this Thursday and Friday by Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. Both men will each get to drive 100 kilometres with it at the Fiorano circuit.

Red Bull is not sitting still either. They too will come up with updates in Imola. So it will be a matter of how these updates will affect Ferrari's chances of getting closer to the Austrian team. Furthermore, the remaining half of McLaren's updates will also be added to Oscar Piastri's car that weekend.
