Ahead of the Grand Prix weekend, there seemed to be a chance of a first rain race of the season in Japan. Is that really the case? You can read about it in this race weekend's weather forecast.

The Grand Prix weekend in Japan started Friday with not so good weather. During the first free practice session it was dry until the last few minutes, but the second free practice session fell through. The track was too wet for slicks and too dry for intermediates. On Saturday it was dry, but still fairly cold.

Weather forecast in Japan

On Sunday, the weather looks much better in that respect. It will be around 22 degrees in Suzuka and partly cloudy. This does make it warmer than on Saturday during qualifying. The wind will also hardly play a role with a force of nine kilometres per hour. Verstappen already announced from Japan that the weather is nice.

So is there any chance of rain during the race? No. The first rain race of 2024 will have to wait a little longer. According to Weather.com, there is a 1 per cent chance of rain during the race.
