To the outside world, it seems as if peace has been fully signed within Red Bull Racing. In Formula 1, however, not everything is always what it seems: Helmut Marko continues as an external advisor to the Austrian team for the time being. Yet how that develops further will be seen in the future. The Red Bull advisor, therefore, does not dare to make any firm statements about his future.

It is no secret that there has been the requisite hassle in recent months, with two camps emerging: on the one hand, that of Red Bull GmbH's Thai major shareholder Christian Horner, and on the other, the Austrian side of the concern including the Verstappen and Marko camp. The latter would even be suspended at some point. Thanks in part to clear statements by Verstappen ('Marko gone, me gone'), this did not materialise. This became clear at the time after a conversation between Marko, Oliver Mintzlaff (CEO Red Bull GmbH) and Franz Watzlawick (CEO of Beverage Business of Red Bull GmbH).

When will Helmut Marko quit Red Bull?

Austria's Laola1 asked Marko if he will remain Red Bull's advisor in the near future. This was followed by a laborious answer: "Well.... Well, I would say... There are always talks and discussions," said Marko, indicating that he conducts these talks with his immediate superior, Oliver Mintzlaf.

The Red Bull adviser's contract still runs until the end of 2026. When asked a follow-up question on whether he will complete this contract, the Austrian also does not give a clear answer. After a brief pause, he says: ''Right now we have other things to worry about than that." Direct contact with the Thai shareholder hardly happens for the 80-year-old advisor. They last spoke to at the turn of the year. "But conversations usually go through the British lawyer Peter Blake-Turner," Marko said.
