Felipe Massa finds it extraordinary that Jos Verstappen is interfering in internal matters at Red Bull Racing. The Brazilian believes this is not the role of a driver's father.

Things are unsettled inside Red Bull Racing. After the independent investigation into Christian Horner was completed, the whole affair seemed to be over. However, after Red Bull GmbH's statement, an e-mail was circulated, competitors called for more transparency and Jos Verstappen also made remarks. Max Verstappen's father was of the opinion that Horner should still step down.

Why Jos Verstappen interfered with Horner

For Jos to interfere so openly is a bad example, according to Massa. ''It is not correct for the father of a driver to talk to the media about something that is not his job. The team needs to work on it," the former F1 driver told the Brazilian branch of Motorsport.com.

Massa is referring to statements Jos Verstappen made by the Dutchman in Bahrain. "There is tension here while he remains in position," the Dutchman is quoted by Mail Sport. "The team is in danger of being torn apart. It can't go on the way it is. It will explode. He is playing the victim, when he is the one causing the problems."

Jos Verstappen and Christian Horner met after the race weekend in Bahrain. According to Red Bull, the focus has returned to the future. In the meantime, however, things have not calmed down. Due to talks between Jos and Toto Wolff, Max Verstappen is now linked with the seat at Mercedes in 2025.
