Currently, Jos Verstappen is in the news a lot. Today, however, there is another piece of news of a completely different nature about Max Verstappen's father: he is celebrating his 52nd birthday.

Jos Verstappen celebrates 52nd birthday

The former Formula 1 driver may blow out 52 candles on Monday. To celebrate the occasion, son Max Verstappen shared a bunch of photos together with his father, both recent and from his early childhood. " Happy birthday, Dad!" reads the caption.

These days, Jos Verstappen is best known for his son's success, in which he has had a big part. Before the Max Verstappen era, however, he himself was considered the most successful F1 driver the Netherlands had known until then. Jos started his career in motorsport's premier class at Benetton as a teammate of Michael Schumacher, with whom he became good friends.

He later drove for Tyrell, Stewart, Arrows and Minardi, among others. During his F1 career, he achieved 2 podium finishes and a total of 17 points, in the era when only the top six were awarded points. His greatest successes would follow later: Jos played a crucial role in the development of Max Verstappen as a driver, who now has three world titles to his name and is hunting for his fourth this year.
