Much has been said about the AlphaTauri starting to look more and more like the RB19 towards the end of the season. However, Christian Horner argued to GPblog and others that other teams are copying more from Red Bull than AlphaTauri does.

AlphaTauri long had the slowest car in the field in 2023. Towards the end of the season, the AT04 started to perform more. As a result, the battle for seventh place in the constructors' championship was exciting right up to the last race in Abu Dhabi, but in the end, Williams finished seventh.

'We are far from a pink Mercedes'

In recent weeks, there has been much speculation that AlphaTauri would partially adopt Red Bull Racing's concept. According to Horner, there is no question of that. "We are a long way from a 'pink Mercedes,'" the Red Bull team boss refers to Racing Point copying the Mercedes in 2020. "There are some transferable components that are clearly listed in the regulations that they allow you to supply and that's what they have." Horner also says other teams may be closer to Red Bull's concept than AlphaTauri. In this regard, he names Aston Martin and McLaren.
