On Friday, Norris was very disappointed. Again McLaren had failed to convert good pace into a strong qualifying session. Norris and Piastri were sent out too late, leaving no grip for a fast lap. Norris will therefore start Sunday's Grand Prix from P6, but is starting the sprint race from pole on Saturday.

Next to him on the grid is Verstappen who will be chasing victory, but also an eager Sergio Perez from P3. The Mexican has something to prove after Mexico and could use every point in his fight for second place in the world championship. The sprint race starts can be followed with the liveblog.
