The future of the Belgian Formula 1 Grand Prix has long been somewhat uncertain in Formula 1. In recent years, the Grand Prix's contract was only extended for one year each time, and this then seemed to be mainly because a Grand Prix in South Africa was not yet possible. However, Spa-Francorchamps ' future in Formula 1 now seems certain for two years.

'Even Belgian GP in 2025'

The Belgian Grand Prix has been struggling in Formula 1 for some time. For a long time, it looked like the 2022 race at the legendary Spa-Francorchamps would be the last for now. The plan was to replace the Grand Prix with one in South Africa, but that deal fell through at the last minute anyway, meaning there was also a Belgian GP this year. The announcement of the 2024 F1 calendar revealed that there will also be a race in the Ardennes next year.

On Wednesday, HLN.be reported that the Belgian Grand Prix is assured of a spot on the Formula 1 calendar for 2025 as well. The medium has heard this from a good source. The very last negotiations are said to be in progress, and unless they go wrong at the last minute, Spa-Francorchamps has secured a spot for 2025.
