Fernando Alonso has had quite a fine Formula 1 career. The now 42-year-old Spaniard became world champion twice with Renault, but he also narrowly missed out on three titles: one for McLaren in 2007, and two for Ferrari in 2010 and 2012. In a Tiktok preview for the High Perfomance podcast, the two-time world champion says that grabbing a world title with Ferrari is the first thing he would do if he could go back in time.

The driver who now drives for Aston Martin drove for Ferrari's team between 2010 and 2014. In his first season, he almost became champion for the Scuderia, but he had four points less than Sebastian Vettel, narrowly missing out on his third title. In 2012, he was even closer. Then he finished just three points behind Vettel, who then took his third world title.

Alonso regrets: no F1 title for Ferrari

Alonso therefore says that winning a championship for the Italian racing stable is the first thing he would do if he could time travel: "2010, 2012 we were within a few laps of winning a World Championship. And that probably could've changed the outcome of many things and the history behind a few things."

The Spaniard balks at more things than just missing out on a title at Ferrari: "What I regret for sure, was not to enjoy my career and my time more. I know I'm at the end of it and there will be a new life in a few years time without driving. When I look back at my career, I will see a lot of good things. A lot of good friendships and incredible experiences. But I should've enjoyed it more. If I had the chance to live my exact life once more, I will just change to live a bit in those moments and try to have more memories from those moments. I won the championship in Brazil in 2005 and 2006, I hardly remember anything from those afternoons and nights which is sad."
