Besides car racing, Charles Leclerc also has another passion: playing the piano. The talented Monegasque has been composing his own pieces of music since 2022, which he then shares on social media. His piano playing has not gone unnoticed; Leclerc may premiere his new work at radio station Classic FM.

Leclerc finds relaxation in music

That a Formula 1 driver needs relaxation besides the races and media moments is logical. Charles Leclerc does this mainly with music. The Ferrari driver comments on this: "My life has always been about speed since I was four and I started racing. The best way I found to slow down and disconnect from the racing world was music."

During the Corona pandemic, Leclerc bought and piano and learnt to read sheet music with some piano lessons. He then started making his own music. Leclerc says his music pieces were inspired by Grands Prix he drove, with names like AUS23 and MIA23. "And now whenever I’m not racing, I always try to disconnect from the racing season with music and with the piano I love."

New song by Leclerc live on radio

Leclerc's piano playing has not gone unnoticed. Radio station Classic FM will have the honour of broadcasting a new song by the Monegasque live on the radio on Sunday night. The radio station considers it hugely special that a driver has taught himself to play the piano within three years.
