Red Bull Racing has been dominant in Formula 1 in recent seasons. Every driver naturally wants to drive for such a dominant team. The first expiring contract at the Austrian team is for Sergio Perez, at the end of 2024. So in 2025, a seat could just become vacant at Red Bull and team boss Christian Horner is already indicating that there is a lot of interest in that position.

Perez struggles in 2023

Perez has been struggling at Red Bull this season. The Mexican failed to reach Q3 five times in a row between the Grands Prix in Monaco and Britain, which seemed to put pressure on Perez's position with his team. Meanwhile, Max Verstappen 's teammate has recovered with a third-place finish in Hungary and a second-place finish in Belgium. However, it remains to be seen whether Perez's current contract will be extended.

Strong interest in Red Bull seat

Should the six-time race winner's contract not be renewed, the seat next to Verstappen will become vacant in 2025. The fight for that seat seems to be starting already. "It’s just the position that we’re in it’s great to have a lot of interest. And it’s not just from those drivers [Perez and Ricciardo], it’s from drivers outside our spectrum as well regarding 2025," Horner told Sky Sports News.
