Horner invited all drivers to his home for BBQ: 'Eyes all twinkling'

Red Bull team boss Christian Horner invited all Formula 1 drivers to his home for a barbecue last weekend, he said during a media moment with GPblog and others. The Briton enjoyed seeing all the conversations between the drivers.

The Red Bull man was asked if he is not worried that winning all those races will bore Max Verstappen. "You can see he enjoyed racing Lando. I had all the drivers for a barbecue at my house last night, and you see they go straight into talking about moments on track and their eyes light up about what happened here or there or even in Formula 3 or karting," said the successful team boss. In the end, about half of the Formula 1 drivers accepted Horner's invitation.

Verstappen will not go after Brad Pitt

So there seems to be no question of boredom, Horner thinks. Although he does not think the two-time world champion will still be driving in Formula 1 when he has reached Brad Pitt's age, he laughingly states. "But does anyone ever get bored of winning?" Max Verstappen currently leads the world championship by a whopping 99 points ahead of teammate Sergio Perez. If the Dutchman only achieves second places from now on, the world title will be his. So he does not need to win any more races to clinch his third title.
