Toto Wolff denies that he has approached Red Bull CEO Oliver Mintzlaff to temporarily stable Mercedes test driver Mick Schumacher with the Austrian team. There was a rumour about this, which was confirmed by Helmut Marko. However, according to Wolff, there was no question of this.

While Marko confirmed, according to German Sport1, that Mintzlaff had been approached by Wolff, he would not say anything about it to Motorsport-Total.com. The Red Bull Racing adviser said only that he has no problems with Schumacher, but that there is no place left for him within Red Bull's Formula 1 team.

Wolff denies Marko suggestion

Wolff denies he was out for talks with the Red Bull chief. "I have never discussed with Red Bull management whether Mick could have a place there," explains the Mercedes team boss. He added that it would be a "waste of time" to try this at all.

The 51-year-old Austrian recently spoke highly of F1 legend Michael Schumacher's son, but added that even at Mercedes, there is no fixed seat for the driver for the time being. He hopes that there is an F1 team that will give Schumacher a chance, but for the time being that chance will not arise at either Mercedes or Red Bull.
