Montoya officially appointed as Red Bull Junior for 2023
Sebastian Montoya has officially confirmed on his Instagram account that he will go through life as a Red Bull Junior in 2023. The son of Juan Pablo will be in action for the Hitech team in the coming season.
Montoya was already part of the Red Bull family in 2022 as an athlete sponsored by the energy drink brand. In 2023, however, he will go through life as part of the official Red Bull Junior Team. Needless to say, the Colombian is delighted with the opportunity at Red Bull.
Opportunity for Montoya
The son of the former F1 driver is 17 years old and has been driving formula cars since 2020. On behalf of Prema, he finished fourth in the prestigious Italian Formula 4 championship in 2021 and in 2022 he impressed most in the Formula Regional Asian Championship, where he won two races and eventually finished seventh in the championship for Prema.
In early 2023, Montoya will race under the Red Bull banner for Hitech Grand Prix in the Formula Regional Middle East Championship. This championship will be run in January and February. More may be added to his programme.
