Max Verstappen can't go home just yet, as the Dutchman is still in action on behalf of Red Bull Racing during Pirelli's tyre test. This could be very important for the Dutchman before 2023.

Pirelli test

Verstappen is not yet a big fan of Pirelli's 2022 tyres. The Italian supplier will supply the tyres again this F1 season, but the 18-inch wheels still cause a lot of understeer this season. Pirelli wants to remedy this in 2023 and will meet Verstappen and others halfway. The Dutchman is not happy with understeer.

Pirelli has 25 days in 2022 to test the tyres for 2023. Nine teams (only Haas is not participating) participate in these test days. Each team gets two full days of testing on the new tyre. Some teams do the two days on one circuit, other teams divide the two days over two different circuits.

Verstappen in action

Verstappen will be in action for Red Bull at the Red Bull Ring on Tuesday. De Telegraaf reported that Verstappen will get behind the wheel himself to test the new tyres. Red Bull will only be in action on Tuesday. Later in the season it will also spend an extra day testing for Pirelli at Monza.

In Austria Red Bull is not testing alone. Tuesday and Wednesday McLaren and Williams are also on track. Those two teams do the two days directly after each other. Alpine will only be in action on Wednesday. The French racing team was already in action one day earlier this year on the circuit of Imola.
