Toto Wolff apologised to Lewis Hamilton after the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix. The Briton was not moving forward in his Mercedes car, which kept him stuck behind Pierre Gasly for over 40 laps and finished the race in 14th place.

Meanwhile, George Russell seemed to feel a lot more comfortable in the W13 and he managed to cross the finish line in fourth place. This still puts the Mercedes driver in an excellent fourth place in the championship, compared to seventh place for Hamilton.

Wolff apologises to Hamilton

After Hamilton's difficult race, Wolff felt apologies were in order. "Sorry for what you had to drive with today," Wolff opened the radio message to his driver. "This result is not what we deserved." The Mercedes team boss adds that they will put it behind them and move on, but stresses that "this was a terrible race.

Hamilton's response to this is short: "I know. Let's keep working hard," he echoes from his W13. To that, Wolff assures the Brit that the team will do just that and that they will 'get out of this'.
