Formula 1 will return to Las Vegas next season for the first time in decades. The news, which has been in the air for months, is met with much enthusiasm from Will Buxton. The journalist from Formula1.com thinks that the FIA has made the right decision with the colourful city.

The motor racing class has been very popular all over the world since the 2021 battle between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. Several countries are therefore trying to bring in a Grand Prix, in which Las Vegas succeeded. As a result, three races are scheduled in the United States this coming season. The race will take place on a Saturday night in November 2023 and, according to Buxton, could be hugely successful.

"Whether a street race in Las Vegas becomes a long-term addition to rival the likes of Singapore remains to be seen, but it has all the right ingredients and comes at the perfect time," Buxton said. "The right race, at the right place, at the right time."

Las Vegas GP in the past

The GP was last seen in the early 1980s. Back then, Alan Jones (1981) and Michele Alboreto (1982) were the race winners. The event was previously known as the Caesars Palace GP.
