Perez wants to give everything for Verstappen: 'Work hard'

Sergio Perez was crucial to Max Verstappen at the last Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi last season. It gave the Mexican a good feeling that he could be of value to his teammate, he tells The Independent.

The driver had some adjustment problems at the beginning of the 2021 season, but managed to develop further over the course of the racing year. At the end of the season, he showed that he has a level of performance that can be of great value to the Austrian racing team.

In the autumn, Red Bull had already expressed its confidence in Perez's qualities on several occasions, so he can show what he can do again next season. "I'm happy that I could help Max in the title fight. I want to work hard for this team," he proudly told the medium.

Perez faces big challenge

Perez will not have it easy in 2022, however, because with Verstappen he has a teammate with a towering level of skill. Where Pierre Gasly and Alexander Albon already broke their teammate, in the new season it is up to Perez to show that he can make things difficult for Verstappen.
