Verstappen enjoyed the team spirit: "That was incredible"

Max Verstappen's world title this season is mainly due to himself. Nevertheless, the Dutchman also keeps an eye on the people around him, as he revealed in conversation with GPblog and others. The Dutchman therefore has a good word to say about Sergio Perez .

At the start of the season Perez clearly struggled to get into the rhythm of a top team, but in the final races of the season the Mexican showed he can be of value. At the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, for example, he held off rival Lewis Hamilton for quite a while, allowing his teammate to get closer.

It makes Verstappen feel grateful. "It was insane what [Perez] did," Verstappen stated.

"That was incredible. It really shows what a team player he is. And also the role he has had in the team. It was tricky from the start to understand the car, but lately he's come along and is driving really well."

Perez and Verstappen appreciate each other

Verstappen doesn't only get along well with Perez on the track, as a person the two men also like each other. "He's an amazing person, I knew him as a driver, but now as a teammate we really get on really well. He's a super nice guy, we don't even talk about F1 just as a person. Amazing what he did as a person."
