TT Assen
The TT Assen, also known as the Dutch TT, is one of the most iconic motorcycle races in the world. This annual race has been held since 1925 in Assen, Drenthe, and is now part of the official MotoGP World Championship. The TT Assen is the oldest event on the MotoGP calendar.
History of the TT Assen
The very first Tourist Trophy Assen was held on July 11, 1925, on public roads. In 1955, Assen received a permanent circuit, which has since been modified and modernized several times. Over the years, the event has attracted millions of spectators, with legendary riders such as Valentino Rossi, Marc Marquez, and Giacomo Agostini celebrating victories here. In 2025, the event marked its 100th anniversary.
TT Assen in MotoGP
MotoGP is the premier class of motorcycle racing, and TT Assen is a fixed round on the calendar. The race weekend features practice sessions, qualifying, and on Sunday, the main races of MotoE, Moto3, Moto2, and MotoGP.
The TT Circuit Assen
The TT Circuit Assen is approximately 4.5 kilometers long and features 18 corners. It is known for its technical layout, fast corner combinations, and tricky braking zones. The track offers plenty of overtaking opportunities and demands maximum precision from the riders. In 2006, the circuit was shortened, but its character and challenges remained intact.
Dutch TT Assen 2025
The TT Assen 2025 took place from June 27 to 29, 2025. The event once again drew hundreds of thousands of motorsport fans to the TT Circuit in Drenthe. The race was won by Ducati rider Marc Marquez. This edition marked the 100th running of the Dutch event.

The TT Assen 2026 will be held from Friday, June 26 to Sunday, June 28, at the iconic TT Circuit Assen. This annual motorsport event, also known as the “Cathedral of Speed,” is a fixture on the MotoGP calendar and attracts hundreds of thousands of motorsport fans from around the world.
