Red Bull about very disappointing Ferrari: "You can draw your own conclusions"

Christian Horner argues that Red Bull Racing could have won more Grands Prix last season when it was clear that something was not right with the 2019 Ferrari engine. According to the team boss of the Milton Keynes-based team, it is clear that the Italians have misplaced their priorities in recent years.

"The whole thing has left quite a sour taste," Horner notes in an online press release from Red Bull after the Belgian Grand Prix. “Obviously you can draw your own conclusions from Ferrari’s current performance. But in those races, we should have won last year, arguably, if they’d have run with an engine that seems to be quite different to the performance that they had last year.”

The Brit acknowledges that it is a very difficult situation for Ferrari to deal with at the moment. "But I think it’s that their focus has obviously been in the wrong areas in previous years, which is why they obviously seem to be struggling a little with whatever it was in that agreement," he explains.

Little difference between Honda and Renault

On the relationships between engine manufacturers, Horner says: "You’ve got Mercedes a clear leader. Then I think Honda and Renault are reasonably close depending on on circuits and conditions. And then you’ve got Ferrari, obviously, at the back of the queue," the top men concludes.

Mattia Binotto is of the opinion that team bosses of other Formula 1 teams should keep quiet and mind their own business.
