Lewis Hamilton has again set the fastest time in the second free practice for the Turkish Grand Prix. The British driver was faster in the morning session than Max Verstappen who finished fifth in the afternoon.

With seven races to go all eyes were on the two candidates for the world title. Especially for Hamilton it is very important to set the fastest time during Saturday afternoon's qualifying session. The Mercedes driver gets a grid penalty of ten places because he changed the combustion engine. A bad qualifying session will put him even further back.

Judging by the second free practice Mercedes has everything sorted out. Hamilton was the fastest driver on the track with a time of 1:23:804, while Verstappen fell more than six tenths short of his competitor. The Dutchman was even slower than Sergio Pérez who finished fourth with a slightly better time.

Ferrari in good shape in Turkey

Charles Leclerc seems to be doing very well in Turkey. At the end of the first free practice session he was in third place but a few hours later he managed to set the second fastest time. His teammate Carlos Sainz finished tenth, but will start from the back of the grid due to an engine change in his car.
