Things are not going as smoothly at Williams as hoped, but they are getting better. The results, excluding George Russell, are still not great though. Nicholas Latifi is usually in the back of the field with the two Haas cars.

Russell, however, especially in qualifying, knows how to get everything out of the car. During the race this hasn't translated into points for the young Brit so far and his team. Team boss Jost Capito explains that the disappointment was big, but that is only a good thing. He says this to Motorsport.com.

"The team is very disappointed. But I am very happy that everyone is so disappointed. Because four weeks ago everyone would have celebrated an eleventh place as a victory. That we finished twelfth in France, everyone thought was fantastic. That we are disappointed with eleventh place now shows how much fire is in the team and how enthusiastic everyone is. People want more." He believes this is an important development within the team.

"People are no longer satisfied with a result that doesn't bring points. This is very important because it means the team will keep pushing and try harder next time."

Secretly satisfied with triple header course

Russell certainly had a good time during qualifying in Austria and France. During the races he had a lot of bad luck, so he missed out on points.

"I think if anyone had shouted prior to the triple-header that we would achieve all this in these three races, everyone would have called us crazy and would have shouted that this was never going to happen. But now we are even disappointed with eleventh place! It shows that we are moving in the right direction with the team."

In a week and a half, Williams will have another chance at Silverstone with Russell (or Latifi) collecting points for the first time this season.
