Todt's not thinking of another term as FIA president: "I won't change statutes"

Jean Todt is on the eve of his final year as president of the FIA and just now, hard times are breaking out for motorsport. However, the Frenchman does not intend to stay on any longer to lead during this crisis.

Jean Todt has been in the world of motor racing for a very long time, he started as a rally navigator in the 60's and in the 80's eventually became director of the rally team of Peugeot. In the 1990s, he joined the Ferrari Formula 1 team and now he has been President of the FIA for some time, eleven years to be precise.

No extra term for Todt

Because an FIA president may hold office for a maximum of three terms, Todt will begin his final year as president in 2021. Because we are now living in a time of crisis, it is not unusual in politics for a president to exceed the maximum number of terms. However, Todt does not intend to remain in office any longer as a result of the corona crisis.
