Chandhok impressed with performances of Verstappen in 2019

Former F1 driver Karun Chandhok has been impressed with the continued high level of performances shown by Max Verstappen. The Dutchman enjoyed another fine season, finishing in third in the drivers' championship, only behind the two Mercedes.

The 22-year-old is already in his fifth year as a driver in Formula One which just goes to show how quick of an impression he has made and is now a highly experienced driver.

 "We saw a different Max this year than in 2018. He made another mistake in Mexico, but otherwise, he was exceptional again this year," Chandhok told Motorsport Magazine.

  "He is so quiet in the cockpit. If you listen to those toppers next to each other, then he is the man who is most calm about the onboard radio and lets you know exactly what he wants.

 "Leclerc is then a little too emotional, where Verstappen is very flat. Max drives his laps just like Schumacher and Alonso, then he is just like a robot. Leclerc makes just too many mistakes for that. "
