Ferrari star Sebastian Vettel had a nightmare qualifying as his Ferrari broke down before the German could set a time, but he could now take advantage of his P20 starting position by swapping all of his engine components.

During his first out lap in Q1, Vettel reported a problem with his engine that left him without power. He had to come in to sort the problem, but it turned out to be terminal, as the four-time champion climbed out of his cockpit and was left with empty hands on a day where many fancied him to grab pole position as he did in 2018.

Vettel now starts in last place, meaning he might as well swap out all major engine components. He would receive massive grid penalties for this, but as he's already starting from last place, there is nothing to lose for the 31-year-old. It would leave Ferrari with more spare parts for the remaining races as well!

Ferrari haven't confirmed any part swaps as of yet. It would concern the MGU-K, a new battery (for ERS) and a new combustion engine.
