Red Bull Racing said goodbye to a lot of juniors, but new talents were also recruited. Oliver Goethe is one of them. The 19-year-old talent is grateful to Helmut Marko for the opportunity, but knows better than anyone: he needs to perform in 2024.

Goethe hopes to make the step to Formula 1 with the help of Red Bull Racing. The German-Danish driver hopes to achieve the same in the future Sebastian Vettel. "I always liked Vettel, who was also a Red Bull junior. He had humour and attitude. I would love to follow in his footsteps," he told the Deutschen Presse-Agentur. "But I also look up to Max Verstappen, who dominates Formula 1. It would be great to be his teammate one day."

Goethe spoke to Marko

In his first year in Formula 3, Goethe finished eighth in the championship with 75 points. Moreover, he won a race. He saw his strong performance rewarded with a contract at Red Bull. But: Goethe needs to continue his development.

"I met with Dr Helmut Marko and Christian Horner. They told me very directly and clearly what they expect from me. There have to be results. They want me to drive at the front and I will do my best to achieve that," Goethe said.

The RB talent will compete again in Formula 3 in 2024. However, he will do so for a new team, Campos Racing after his switch from Trident. The intention is for Goethe to advance to Formula 2 in 2025.
